Allwinner T113-S3

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out for some guidance regarding the use of RT-Thread Studio and its operating system for the Allwinner T113-S3. This is my first time working with this particular CPU and OS, so I’m still getting familiar with them. Unfortunately, I don’t have much experience with Eclipse or GCC tools, as I’ve primarily used KEIL and IAR with FreeRTOS for over a decade. Additionally, I have some experience with bare-metal programming for the ARM926 using KEIL.

If anyone has a template or project example for RT-Thread Studio based on the Allwinner T113-S3, I would greatly appreciate it. Your assistance would be invaluable in helping me get started.

Thank you in advance for your support!

If you're coming from KEIL/IAR with FreeRTOS, RT-Thread Studio may feel a bit different at first since it's Eclipse-based, but the workflow becomes easier once you get used to the project structure.
For the Allwinner T113-S3, there are some reference BSPs and example projects available in the official RT-Thread repositories. You might find this helpful as a starting point:

I’ve worked with the T113‑S3 a couple of times, and I remember having the exact same struggle when switching from KEIL/IAR + FreeRTOS to RT‑Thread Studio. The workflow feels very different at first, especially because RT‑Thread Studio is Eclipse‑based and the Allwinner ecosystem isn’t as polished as STM32 or NXP. Here’s what I’ve learned that should help you get started.

@Dinosaur Game Hi, welcome to RT-Thread! For the Allwinner T113-S3, you can start by checking the official BSP and example projects provided in RT-Thread Studio or on their GitHub, as they usually include ready-to-build templates. Since you’re coming from KEIL/IAR, it might take a bit of time to get used to the GCC/Eclipse workflow, but the existing demos should help you get up and running quickly.

Navigating RT-Thread Studio with Allwinner T113-S3 feels like starting a new life, almost like a fresh Bitlife game. Coming from KEIL and IAR with FreeRTOS, the Eclipse/GCC environment is a bit foreign. Anyone have a project template? It'd be a real boon as I tackle this new CPU and OS, leveling up my skills beyond my ARM926 bare-metal days.

Right, Allwinner T113-S3, a new beast for our friend! RT-Thread Studio, that sounds both intriguing and potentially headache-inducing. Eclipse and GCC after a decade of KEIL and IAR? A jump for sure! Bare-metal ARM926 experience will probably help, somewhat. I remember once wrestling with a completely undocumented microcontroller while trying to build a custom weather station. Getting the SPI interface to work correctly felt like scaling an impossibly steep Slope Game. Good luck to our friend, it's a journey.

Hey! That's quite the jump! Going from KEIL/IAR and FreeRTOS to RT-Thread Studio is a change, but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. While I don't have a specific T113-S3 template, I found some helpful RT-Thread tutorials online that got me started. Have you checked out the RT-Thread documentation? Sometimes exploring different projects can give you inspiration. BTW, Do you play basketball? I have a similar experience when I started playing Basketball Stars. But by exploring different matches, I gain more experience from other players.
